TGIF! Development News for August 30 2019

Happy Friday everyone!

It’s been a week of busy behind-the-scenes work here this week, which is about to bear fruit very soon! But before we head into the Labor Day long weekend, let’s go over what’s new this past week in development news:

In Game Events!

A BRAND NEW Raid Boss is now available in Mob Wars: LCN! The Capo Bastone is moving on your territory, so band together with your fellows Mobsters and take him out! Be warned, this crafty veteran of the mafia underworld won’t go down without a fight!

Equally used to rending apart both ship and foe alike, the burly Shipbreaker Captain Co-op Boss is now available for the Shipbreaker Bay Location in Pirate Clan along with the associated Minigame! Crafting will be out next week to close off the new content for this Location.

And a quick note, Chat Name Colors are now available on the Mobile Chat as well! Click on the shopping cart icon on Mobile Chat to see them.

Ambush Updates for Mob Wars: LCN

Over the past while we have been hearing feedback about how the Ambush feature has been used and this past week we took steps to tackle that. In order to address that feedback and prevent Ambushes being overused through augmented play and to make setting them more of a strategic consideration, we introduced a cooldown that would pause the ability to set Ambushes for a certain amount of time.

While this did curb excessive Ambush setting, it also affected regular Ambush play as well, so we made an adjustment to the cooldown and have been working on an alternative. The cooldown will remain in place over the Labor Day long weekend, and come early next week we'll be making the following updates to the Ambush system:

- Remove the 60 second cooldown
- Introduce an inflated Cash cost for attempting to set repeated Ambushes beyond your max

What the increased Cash cost comes down to is this: say you currently have 10 Ambushes set against another player. If you try to repeatedly set more Ambushes over that 10 before they have been set off, the cost to set Ambushes will ramp up hard after a number of attempts.

Note that this only applies on a per-player basis, so you can have 10 Ambushes set against multiple players and not be hit with the penalty. When this change releases next week we'll be sure to drop an update in the in-game News feed.

Long Weekend Housekeeping

As a quick reminder about the Long Weekend, this means that there might be a slightly longer than normal delay in responding to Support tickets, but as always our team will monitor the games and hop on should any issues arise!
